Taylor Swift became a popular singer and songwriter in early 2001 with her tales of heartache. Swift's passion for music was evident when she was a young age. From musicals for kids to appearing in front of crowds, Swift made rapid progress. In 2011, Swift aged 11 at the time, performed The Star-Spangled Banner during a Philadelphia 76ers' basketball match. The year after that she began to write songs of her own. Taking her inspiration from country music artists such as Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original material that reflected her experiences of growing up in a world that was dominated by tweens. Swift's family relocated in Tennessee Pennsylvania at the age of 13so she could spend more time exploring country music labels in Nashville.
